The Sit Dock Move in Skydiving & Free Flying
Hi welcome to Expert Village my name is Nicholas Daniel. Once you have mastered your sit fly and you are fairly comfortable with it obviously you want to go ahead and do something with it. Taking up docs with another friend in the sky is definitely a cool thing to do. There's a couple of methods of doing it. You can take docs in many different areas. You can have them fly up to the side, you can take a regular side doc which is fairly easy. You're both just flying your slot as you will you are flying next to each other and your hands just happens to be there or you just kind of take a doc. That is the first way that I recommend doing it. With something that is a little bit more tricker is having you face off with the person that you are going to be taking a doc with. Generally what you want to think about is as you go to reach for the other person just think about keeping the elbows in a little bit. This is going to make you a little bit more stable. A lot people tendency to have there arms out and it actually gets interference from the bottom leg because gets verbled and you sort start to move around and you get a little bit more lift and you just start to basically it starts to mess you up. So what you want to think about is just go ahead and bring your arm in a little bit and reach out this way. It is going to be just a little bit easier to do. Again remember you want to maintain lift with your upper body and keep those shoulder blades together so you can stay up. A lot of people have the tendency to reach for the docs but they slouch and that is when they fall to their back. So make sure that you maintain you lift and that you maintain that position as you go for the doc. Other things to look for make sure that you are on the same altitude as you go for the doc you don't want to reach above you, or below you, also it is a little bit more prone to court that way. Make sure that you are facing off, you are flying the position before you take that doc. Don't try to reach for the grip or demand the grip but other then that you won't be flying any more you are just going to be wrestling with someone in the sky. So make sure that everything is nice and slow. Work with your legs once you take a doc you obviously cannot fly that arm as well so make that you fly the with the rest of your body. Other then that have fun with it and be safe. For more information on coaching or free flying video you can contact me at nicholas_daniel@yahoo.com or at my personal cell number at 951-591-0571.
