Preparing Mold for Clay Duck Decoy
Well, as I said we have this; I recommend to wrap with a piece of paper. Let me tell you what happen with the clay. When you work with clay, the clay shrinks; all clay shrinks, shrink between 10 to 15 %. Any structure that you put in there is going to break when dries; it's going to shrink and it's going to compress the structure and it's going to crack and you're going to lose the piece. Then all whatever we put inside now, in order to support, we have to take it out later. That's why the paper going to stick in the clay, but the form fist is going to be easy to pull out, okay. Now let's start making the body. I want this here, I want this there, okay; cut this. Now we have to put the two pieces together, that's very important. And in order to be sure that we're doing the right thing before we mold that to the structure is to made sure that the two pieces are well together. And we put this back. Okay, now we're going start forming the body.
