Marking Drawstring Opening for Jewelry Bags

So now we are ready to do something a little bit more complicated on the jewelry bag then some of the other parts and that is making the drawstring lining casing. It's the opening area where the drawstring goes in and out and what we are trying to do is create this opening which basically is just making a fabric button hole, but a big one. It's just a square piece that I cut out and I have it reinforced by another piece of fabric which is this little piece on the backside and I'm going to show you how to make that. It's a few steps but it's basically just like making a fabric button hole but you just don't zigzag around the edge of it. So these are my two little pieces that we are going to use and what I'm going to need to do is mark on these little pieces the size that I want it because I am going to eventually pin them down exactly where I want it and I want to be able to see where I want to sew. I don't want it to be on top of here where I can't see it. I actually want it 1 inch long , I'm going to mark 1 inch and 1 inch, then I want it 3/4's of an inch wide and you don't have to be exactly perfect on this. Just little marks so that you know exactly what you want to sew because we do want both of these to be the same size. So you just do 3/4's, 3/4's, and I'll show you which side goes on which side when, which way to turn this when I pin it on. Okay, so what I have drawn on each one is a little box, 1 inch by 3/4's of an inch and I'm going to show you what to do with these next.
