Texas-Shaped Coaster: Diagonal Wine Cork Pattern
Okay, I've got a pile of corks here that I've cut in half. Now, we're going to decide on a pattern when we glue them down to this piece of wood. So, the first pattern I'm going to show you is a diagonal pattern and that's going to be where all the corks go in this direction. So we'll start up here at the top and go ahead and let them overlap. About like that. I like to offset them a little bit like bricks. It's just a little more interesting. I kind of search through these to find ones that have interesting printing on them or interesting patterns of some kind. I'm not going to spend a whole lot of time doing that right now. I just want to show you the pattern. That will get glued down. We'll continue. Let's see, I think I'll put that one right here and put the next one, there and the next one, here and the next one, here. It's okay to let them hang off because we're going to trim that in a little while. Just, pretty much go down the whole board. There's an interesting one. Like that. Sometimes, these corks are a little bit different size and they'll taper. That's okay. It's kind of part of the look.
