Texas-Shaped Coaster: Wine Corks and Plywood
Hi there. Today we're going to do a little craft project using wine corks and plywood. And this is a partially finished version of it. This is the state of Texas. So I guess you can guess where this video is being shot. And I found the outline on the side of a building. And I traced around it on a piece of paper. And then cut that out. And then using rubber cement I put it down on a piece of plywood and cut around it with my band saw. Now, I'm going to make a set of these. This is the big one. And it needs and edge banding, but we'll get to that later. So I'm going to make another one now, that's smaller than this one. This is a small state of Texas; you don't have to worry about this junk on the board that will all go away. And this is one of four that I'm going to make to go along with this one. And it makes a set. So the first step is going to be to cut out Texas. Now I got this shape from a large road map. And I cut out Texas and did the same thing, rubber cement and traced around it. And so I've got a line here, and I'm going to cut out this on my band saw.
