Summary: Kung fu is a traditional form of martial arts native to China. The forms of combat arts that make up kung fu can be traced as far back as the 12th century BC. The term “Kung Fu” actually refers to any individual accomplishment or cultivated skill obtained by long and hard work. The term was popularized in Western countries in the 20th century by Hong Kong films in the 1960s.

In this free video series a martial arts expert, Dan Schmidt, will show you several kung fu self defense moves. Dan will begin by introducing you to a few self defense methods for warding off grab attacks. You'll learn to defend yourself against the bear hug from all angles. Dan will also show you how to eliminate a choke attack as well as how to perform a double outside crescent kick against an aggressive opponent.
