In fact, there are now medically backed studies showing that therapy animals can significantly improve the well being of many patients.

There's nothing cuter than a newborn puppy, but caring for a young puppy takes a lot of time and commitment, as well as knowledge of proper care techniques. In this free video series our expert vet technician will show you how to care for a newborn puppy. You will get tips on how to assess the health of a newborn puppy, how to help a newborn puppy use the bathroom and how to keep a puppy warm. Expert: Megan Webb has been Volunteer Manager at Oakland Animal Services for six years and served as Interim Director at various times. She worked as a veterinary technician and has volunteered at multiple shelters and wildlife rehabilitation facilities. She has an Masters in Business from UC Berkeley and Columbia University in New York. Megan also consults for the Humane Society of the United States to create and teach their online Volunteer Management certificate course and has presented at conferences on volunteer management across the country.
