Summary: Krav Maga is a self defense and hand to hand system of combat developed in Israel. One of the main philosophies in krav maga is the concept of no quarter, which means that no mercy will be given to the loser. The martial art is not considered a sport, and emphasizes real-life lethal threat situations in its training, and as a result there are no uniforms or competitions as in boxing, judo, karate and jujitsu. Like other martial arts, krav maga utilizes strikes, throws, locks and kicks, as well as attacks that are sometimes considered dirty like eye gouging, groin kicks, head butts and attacks on other vulnerable body parts.
