About the Expert

Expert: Jan Kain began her career in fitness began at the tender age of 10. She danced professionally with the New York City Ballet, and she appeared in shows on and off Broadway. Having an affinity for science, she became a registered nurse where she worked in many disciplines. Jan realized early on that without prevention and the focus on wellness, people would succumb to illness and have a horrible quality of life. Most illness is preventable with proper diet and exercise! Combining her love of movement with the knowledge she embraced in nursing, she set out to make health and wellness a viable field. Specializing in fitness, health and wellness, she has been able to establish a unique variety of programs in those areas, and for over 25 years, she has helped many people adopt the idea of “lifestyle change”. In addition, Jan has written and published articles on nutrition, sports medicine, aerobic dance and exercise, causes and prevention of athletic injuries, and athletic shoe research.
