Summary: The development of skateboarding coincides with the popularization of surfing in California around the 1950's. Since that time, skateboarding has seen many rises and falls in popularity, with several generations of young skaters developing the sport and their own skateboarding tricks and techniques. The current generation of skateboarders is more accepted and less rebellious than previous generations, and often skate on city built skate parks designed for a variety of skateboarding tricks. In skateboarding, a front side 50-50 is when a skateboarder does an Ollie onto a ledge and grinds using both of their trucks at the same time. A backside version of this trick means that the ledge is behind the skateboarder. In this free video series, a sponsored skateboarder will demonstrate a number of 50-50 skateboarding tricks, including the front and back side 50-50. Additionally, information and demonstrations will be given on foot placement, common mistakes and variations on the 50-50 in skateboarding.
