About the Expert
Eric Sterns began studying wilderness skills and minimalist camping about 15 years ago. He is primarily self taught, learning mostly as a result of harsh trial and error. He has designed and taught several courses geared toward preventing and or enduring short term emergency situations, covering such topics as constructing man-made and improvised shelter, construction and use of fire, locating water and making
it safe to drink, techniques for audible and visual signaling, and emergency prevention.
