Summary: BB guns are a type of air gun designed to shoot usually spherical projectiles called BBs. Modern day BB guns usually have a smooth-bore barrel with a bore diameter and caliber of 0.177 inches. Airsoft guns are also commonly referred to as BB guns or pellet guns, as they also shoot spherical projectiles through a smooth-bore barrel. BB guns should be handled with extreme caution and should never be fired at other humans.
