Summary: Are you thinking of home schooling your children? Prior to 1852, there was no compulsory schooling law enforced and most children received their early education at home. Throughout the history of civilization there have been movements in homeschooling and early education. The most modern movement of homeschooling began in the 1960s and 1970s when Ray and Dorothy Moore, professional education workers, began to question the validity of early education. There are millions of children being educated at home and hundreds of thousands more worldwide.

In this free series of how-to home schooling videos, our expert educator Jennifer Miller gives you an overview of teaching geography to your student at home. She discusses statistics culled from public school students, then tells you how you can make sure that your homeschooled student can do much better. What are the standards and categories we should teach our children about geography? How can geography can be woven into other subjects? Learn all of this and more in this enlightening lesson for both you and your favorite student.
