Summary: People have been sewing their own clothing, bedding, and upholstery since practically the beginning of time. In fact, sewing predates the weaving of cloth, and was nearly universal among Paleolithic human populations. Sewing is the basic act of using a needle and thread to stitch together cloth, leather, furs or other material to produce a variety of household items. Today, most sewing is done by industrial sewing machines, however many people continue to sew for themselves, repairing clothes, mending seams, or making simple items like curtains or table cloths.

In this free video series, our expert will teach you how to sew a zipper. If you've ever thrown away a piece of clothing because of a broken zipper, this is the video for you to watch.
