In this free video series, our expert Esther-Xiaohua Liu will teach you how to write Chinese characters by using the poem "The Yearning" by Wang Wei. Esther will teach you about the history of Tang Poetry and the different forms of Tang poetry. She will tell you all about tones, and teach you how to write red, bean, grow, south, spring, come, grow in bud, how many, and branch in Chinese characters. She will even teach you how to write the title of the poem and the poets name in Chinese characters!
Expert: Esther-Xiaohua Liu is currently a graduate student and teaching assistant with a major in Chinese Literature and Languages at The University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She has taught Chinese at Shaanxi Normal University, Chang'an University, and Xi'an Conservatory College in China. In the United States, she has taught Chinese to students at Northwestern University's Xiling Chinese school and the Chinese American League of Chicago, Illinois. She has also published many poems written in Chinese and in English, both in China and in the United States.
