Expert: Brenda L. Thompson is a licensed dietitian and professional chef. She had struggled with weight her entire life. After some extreme life experiences, she decided to change her life for the best. She studied to become a registered dietitian at the University of Idaho to not only get her own lifestyle on a healthy plan, but to help motivate others, because she knows how difficult it can be to make a change. While working as a clinical dietitian at St. David's medical Center, she studied at Texas Culinary Academy to become a chef. She then began a career as a personal registered dietitian and chef for a private family. In addition to her medical and personal chef experience she has taught classes at Williams-Sonoma, Gold's Gym, and Literacy Austin. She developed a menu kit and employee training kit for the Idaho State Department, Child Nutrition Programs in efforts to enhance school meals.
