Summary: Service dogs are specially trained assistance dogs used to help people with disabilities or impairments. They are often used as therapy dogs in hospitals to lift the spirits of patients, and encourage mobility. There are many organizations that provide the service of dog training, primarily focusing on acclimating dogs to working around people and general obedience training for the puppies. Some people choose to train their service or therapy dogs as individuals, and rescue animals from animal shelters in order to better not only a disabled persons life, but also the animals life.
