Summary: Why models? According to J.P. Prewitt, famous hand model of Bulova fame, models are genetically constructed to become something great: “They’re in peak physical condition. They can gain entry to the most secure places in the world. And most important of all, models don’t think for themselves. They do as their told.” It seems only natural for mothers to want their girls going to modeling themed birthday parties. Because of the popularity of shows like America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, and others, modeling has become a fad readily consumed by our tweenagers and teenie-boppers.

Birthdays celebrate our children’s yearly aging; we put a mark on the pantry door, give them a little more responsibility and a later bedtime, and celebrate their coming of age with a party in their honor. The power of the birthday party tradition is evidenced in children who carry chips on their shoulder well into their twenties and thirties because of parents skipping the obligatory sixteenth birthday celebration. A truly American sentiment.

In this free video series, expert Renee Melanson shows you how to throw a modeling themed birthday party from start to finish. You will learn how to do makeup for that chic model look, games about accessorizing for groups of girls to play, costumes and wardrobe tips, what food and cake to serve, and how to set up and take head shots for the new crop of little models. You will also learn to make a runway and teach party-goers how to strut and pose on the catwalk. Why models? Are you serious, I just told you that a minute ago!
