About the Expert

Expert: J. D. Keating is a musician, artist and educator from Western Massachusetts. For two decades he has lent his varied talents to innumerable projects in the music industry.

In 2003 he created Skin-n-Bonz , an early childhood music ensemble. This Junkyard Brass Band provides an “edutainment" experience for young children; Reduce, Reuse , Recycle is the theme. Children create their own instruments from everyday items. Then they discover how sound becomes music by playing with the band. This experience fosters self-esteem, social awareness and ecological stewardship by creating a fun atmosphere for self-expression through music. Art makes joy!
