Learn the etiquette of hosting a karaoke show in this free series of karaoke machine manners from our professional entertainer and sing-along expert. Known as “Queen of Karaoke” in Southern California, Carla Negri knows how to get the party started and keep rolling right along. Learn how to keep your guests happy with the most equitable way to sign up singers, and ensure that they will be singing the song that is right for them. Carla shares her insight on what scenarios to avoid, lest you bring down the party: don't play background music between songs, encourage the audience not to clap until the song ends and don't force someone to sing a song that they don't want, either because the song is in a key they can't handle or because they just plain don't like the song. You are the host and therefore the gauge of the party, so keep things hopping by singing upbeat songs and dancing with the music. And don't drink too much alcohol or you may just lose track of how much fun you are having. And then your guests may lose track as well...
