Summary: Acupuncture is the technique of inserting needles into different points on the body according to the teachings of traditional Eastern medicine. About the Expert

Dr. Guan-Yuan Jin, MD, L.Ac is an internationally renowned doctor, professor, and clinical acupuncturist. Dr. Jin is currently the Honorary Professor of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, PRC and President of International Institute of Holistic Medicine. After graduating from Zhejiang Medical University (currently known as Zhejiang University's School of Medicine) in Physiology in 1982, he stayed at the same school and became Assistant Associate and eventually Professor of Physiology until 1989. During the late 1960s', Dr. Jin studied under the tutelage of Dr. Mian-Zhai Jiao, one of the four most famous Acupuncturists and Qigong Masters in modern China. After Dr. Jin came to U.S., he obtained a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Radiology at Medical College of Wisconsin in 1991 and later became a “Grandfather” Acupuncturist and one of the first seventeen Diplomats of Chinese Herbology (NCCAOM) in USA. Currently, Dr. Jin serves on the Wisconsin State Acupuncture Advisory Committee.
