About the Expert

Mike Myers attended Earthskills Primitive Survival Skills courses in Frazier Park, California. Mike also worked as a volunteer park docent and trail patrol for The Monterey Peninsula Regional Park – Garland Park, in Carmel Valley. Mike’s favorite hikes include two ascents of 14,495’ Mount Whitney, the first a one day, fourteen hour, round trip adventure of about twenty-two miles and 6,000’ elevation gain. Mike has also hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim. Other favorites include Yosemite and the Emigrant Wilderness backcountry, Death Valley National Park, Grand Teton National Park and The Pinnacles National Monument. Mike founded Zion Wilderness Survival School, LLC in 2003 after conducting courses for a number of year’s previously under HikingwithMike.
