Summary: Children growing up in the Internet age have access to more information than any other generation prior. What took students hours and hours of research through limited numbers of local library reference books can now be accomplished with a few keystrokes on a basic home computer. Information which would never have been available before can now be accessed to help students with their homework. But within this wealth of information one can also find numerous subjects that are, shall we say, inappropriate for children. Every parent wants to keep their child safe, and Internet safety is no exception. But how do you teach children web surfing skills and keep them safe from online predators and inappropriate material?

In this series of free video clips you'll get tips from an expert on not only keeping your kids safe while surfing the Internet, but also how to regulate Internet time and help them get set up to use various online resources. Courtney Hester also shows you how to set up a custom desktop with login and password for your child, how to set restrictions in Internet web browsers and how to bookmark kid-friendly sites for your child. She also demonstrates how to transfer images from a digital camera to a computer and show how to organize and edit the photos to share with friends.
