Folding Clothes in a Suit Case

Melody Mann has been folding own clothes since she was about 2 1/2 yrs old. Her grandmother taught her how to fold clothes in the old days then she found ways to do it faster & for different purposes. In 1968 - 1969 she worked in a laundry for fun . People dropped off their clothes to be washed and sometimes pressed & always folded; she got to do the folding and was paid a small amount but, didn't care because she loved folding clothes. In the 1970's Melody became a musician on the road- carrying all of the clothing she owned with her in a foot locker & suitcase for 10 years. Being a woman & clothes horse she used her perfected methods of folding not only to be able to pack more things but also to be able to cut down on wrinkles. At one point all members of the show had her folding their clothes too. She learned & perfected methods of folding depending on where the clothes are going to be after folding. If on a shelf or in a drawer, the fold is more relaxed; if the clothes are going into a moving box or suitcase where weight & pressure can press unwanted creases into the fabric. There are specific ways to fold to prevent excessive wrinkling & also to conserve space.
