Summary: Martial arts is a sport that involves a sequence of movements and exercises that require strength and flexibility. Typical martial arts moves include punches, kicks, rolls, tucks, somersaults, flips, and other acrobatic maneuvers. Competitive martial arts, like those in the Olympics, take a lot of dedication and practice. There are many types of martial arts but the farther one advances in any of them the more acrobatic moves they learn.

In this series of videos, you will learn more about martial arts and how to do an aerial. Our expert teaches you different exercises and tips on how to do one correctly and safely. Get tips on doing the perfect aerial and other variations of one. It is important to learn beginning martial arts positions or stances first. About the Expert

Alfred Hsing is a UCLA grad that has trained martial arts for over 9 years. He has competed at tournaments nationally and internationally. Currently a member of the 2007 US Men's National Wushu Team, Alfred has won grand champion at Berkeley Western Regionals and placed first in weapon's divisions at Taiwan's national competitions. He is highly skilled in many weapons styles ranging from swords, to staffs, to spears. Additionally, due to his involvement in martial arts and due to his skill in tricking, Alfred has gained a lot of experience in action choreography and fighting for the camera. He has been in film and television roles such as CSI: New York where he has gained experience in various techniques for fights, tricks, and falls. Alfred Hsing has also had many years of coaching experience which has helped him share and grow martial arts.
