Summary: So you’ve got plans for a romantic evening out of the house, away from the kids, but what should you expect when leaving a babysitter in charge of your children and home? Would you trust your niece or nephew to make the right decision in an emergency more than you would a professional babysitting service? Babysitting is a job traditionally performed by teenagers with some relation to the family. Of course this is also a stereotypical setting for dozens of horror films, but it doesn’t have to be the terrifying scenario for parents it’s often portrayed to be.

In this series of video clips you’ll get tips and advice that will make your evening out worry-free. What qualities should you look for when choosing a babysitter? How much should you pay a babysitter? What emergency contact numbers should you leave behind? What about a fire safety plan, or how to deal with temper tantrums and other types of bad behavior? Expert Aisha Puri offers ideas for games and creative crafts, as well as suggestions that will help you build and maintain a good relationship with your sitter.
