Summary: Physical strength, flexibility, and kinesthetic awareness are all integral parts of the sport known as gymnastics. Gymnastics is an Olympic sport practiced in almost every country in the world, and involves the execution of sequences of physical feats, aesthetically pleasing routines and demonstrations of an athlete's agility. Gymnastics is also one of the most popular sports for young children, as beginner gymnastics exercises foster self-confidence, team building and general athleticism.

Typical gymnastic moves include handsprings, handstands, forward rolls, tucks, somersaults, vaults, and other acrobatic maneuvers. Competitive gymnastics, like those in the Olympics, take a lot of dedication and practice. There are many types of gymnastics including artistic, rhythmic, sports aerobics, sports acrobatics, trampoline, and power tumbling. These are all regulated by the Federation Internationale de Gymnastique.

In this free kids gymnastics and tumbling instructional video series, learn how to do advanced acrobatic techniques, such as the backhand spring, the uneven bar dismount, level 5 floor exercises like the tumbling pass and the compulsory front handspring, scissoring the pommel horse and more. Also get some basic stretching routines to warm up your muscles and protect from injury before you engage in advanced gymnastics routines.
