Portia is the Founder, Director, and Chief Instructor of Belly Motions, a belly dance academy in Miami/Coral Gables, Florida. In its first year Belly Motions had over 1000 students and is rapidly becoming a premiere belly dance studio in the South Florida area. Portia has also taught and performed at the IV International Samkya Congress in Bogota, Colombia and has performed in the Republic of Malta and Cairo. Portia has made several television appearences, including Telemundo in June of 2005 and LaMega T.V. in February and March of 2006. She has also appeared in the summer issue of Ocean Drive Magazine, and in the Miami Herald in February of 2006. Portia has performed for Gloria and Emilio Estephan, and Giuseppe Zanotti and has shared the stage with the Gypsy Kings.
