I guess right now some of the holidays or particular artists are the most expensive, depending on the condition of the card. A couple might be worth a few hundred dollars if they are very rare, but on the whole, most cards range from a few dollars up to $20 or $30. The world’s most expensive postcard ever went for $60,000 at a charity auction, but that’s not how much the card was actually worth. If you get a one of a kind postcard, a photo postcard, a town no one has heard of, or a famous baseball player, they can go for $500 to $600 in good condition because they’re very hard to come by. The Twin Towers are another valuable type depending upon their age and condition. Surprisingly, a lot of the big city cards aren’t necessarily as collectable as smaller ones, because there are millions of cards in New York City, but not many of a small town. We probably have 55 boxes full of cards just from New York City alone back at our shop. A lot of smaller southern cities didn’t have as many cards made for them. They are a lot more collectable than cities from northern states.
