Do you prefer postcards that aren't written on?

When collecting postcards, keep in mind that writing on the front or back can affect the card's value.

It all depends on the customer. The only thing that would really affect the value is if the cards have writing on the front. Before 1907 when they divided the back, a lot of cards had messages written on

the front. That will take away some of the value because it damages the front of the card. If they are just written on the back it really doesn't affect the value. Some collectors prefer to have writing on the cards, because it gives them a date. However, there are other guidelines that will give you a date as well. It all depends on the collector.
