Cost of Beekeeping

The extraction, bee hive and supplies probably cost around $40,000.

My extraction, bee hive and supplies probably cost around $40,000. We can get started in your backyard for $200 more or less. Some people make money beekeeping. I don't keep records or I would probably stop beekeeping. The price per hour for labor would be ridiculous. It's a lot of fun; I do it as a hobby. I sell about a barrel of honey out of my shop. If you add something to the honey, you could go to jail. There is a $5000 fine, five years if you add anything to honey and call it honey. Once the honey is extracted you can eat it right then and there. It's the only food that you don't have to freeze, can or preserve. Honey can keep for 4000 years; you just have to warm it up and eat it.
