About Glacier National Park

Glacier National Park offers hiking, biking, boating, photography, horseback riding, and fishing.

Glacier National Park was created in 1910 and provides over one million acres of habitat and protection for a wonderful variety of wildlife and wildflowers. Historic lodges preserve the ambience of 19th century travel. The park includes part of Canada. To see the Canadian side, take the Chief Mountain International Highway in summer or go through Cardston on Montana 89. It is an hour drive. Glacier National Park is one of the few places in the United States where grizzly bears can still be found. The park offers wonderful opportunities for hiking, biking, boating, photography, and fishing. Park rangers offer guided hikes and horseback trips as well. During the winter, you can ski here. Entry into the park for private, non-commercial vehicles is about $5 to $10. A map is always included with your entry fee. This is a place where you won't see homes or clear cutting. It's a place where you can see what the earth looked like before man changed it.
