The Alabama Theater is the ideal location for mucials and plays in the Birmingham area.

There is the Alabama Theater. It's an old theater from the 20s and 30s and they have redone it in the style of that era. It's decorated with chandeliers and spiral staircases and it has an orchestra pit.
Right now it's used for a variety of different things like plays and musicals and it also hosts the Birmingham Sidewalk Motion Picture Festival every year which is an independent motion picture festival. The festival brings movies from all over, but, it concentrates especially on independent movies done in the south and Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, so it is national but it also has a big southern influence.
