What self-defense products do you recommend?

Self-defense products include pepper spray, stun guns and any type martial arts training.

You want something that you are going to have a belief in, not something that you just hope that it works. You hear stories that pepper spray won't work in a certain study. But you also hear about the pepper spray that leaves a stain and helps to locate the culprit. It's the same question of if it's going to work, but there is always a balance. Anything you have can be taken away from you. I really don't recommend anything because if I have a gun, a knife, or pepper spray, it can be taken away from me and used against me. We have all seen pictures of this and we all have heard stories like this. Do you think you could shoot someone under a self-defense situation? You would like to think so, but you will rise to what you are capable of. It may be that you can close your eyes and squeeze the trigger. That's why I recommend self-defense; you don't need anything. You don't have to have a thing to defend yourself, but what is related to the individual, once you have reached the certain skill level. Some people who have studied for only a couple of weeks have defended themselves against someone. I know people who have studied styles like tae kwon do for years, and they have gotten beat up. They get tough, but there are always tougher people around. So, I recommend just a martial arts training. A lot of it is just confidence in who you are. If you are confident that you can defend yourself, then that's enough to deter. It also helps you in everyday life. I have a student who got cut off on the highway. He flipped them off and they pulled them over, got out of the car and pulled a knife on him. The student got out of car and was very calm about the situation. The guy saw his attitude and put the knife away and got into car and drove off without doing anything. My student was a nice guy in an unlucky situation and luckily he had enough confidence to get out of the situation. He had enough confidence when he could not even speak. Some people cannot even speak when they are nervous. They get immobilized. All of those people on the airplanes on September 11th, for example. How many people were in the airplane? 200? And how many people were taking over the plane? 4? You mean to tell me that 200 people couldn't take out four guys? There is strength in numbers, but nobody wants to take the first step; nobody takes initiative. Not many people have training. Everyone is afraid or lazy. It's gotten too easy for everybody. So it's all of these things are just changed. I don't know it's better or worse.
