Can I get fit by using swimming as exercise?

Tremendously. It is a sport that requires every muscle in your body all the time. It’s a great overall fitness work and at the same time is generally easy on the joints. Water is where they put runners when they get injured. If we can teach people the proper technique, they can do the sport for their entire life, be fit, have great lung capacity and not have joint injuries. Swimming targets are abdominal muscles. While most people focus on the shoulder, the arms and the legs, the abdominal muscles are the core strength of the body. Because it’s a balanced sport, you can have huge arms and little legs or huge legs and little arms. If your swimmers are going to workout one muscle group in addition to whatever the swimming they are doing, they are going to focus on their abdominal muscles. They generate right from the colon. It starts from the center and heads out. It starts to strengthen everything and tie everything together. Still, you should exercise in conjunction with swimming. There is not one sport on the planet that if you want to reach a potential, you are only going to do that with cross training. It’s not just for the physiological aspect of it. It’s also for the mental aspect. There are sports that can get tremendously tedious going back and forth 800 times a day in the same way. It could be tough on the mind.
