What's a Hepa filter and how does it work?

Hepa filters remove plant pollen, mold spores, tobacco smoke, pet dander and dust particles and fabric fibers.

A Hepa filter is a product that we have in our air purifiers. It removes plant pollen, mold spores, tobacco smoke, pet dander and dust particles and fabric fibers. It traps particles 99.97% of particles

down to 0.3 microns, which is pretty small. Hepa filters need to be replaced about once a year. The charcoal filter that goes in front of it should be replaced about every three months depending on the air quality of the home. These filters are the most effective in an air purifier because that's what they are designed for. They are often seen in other appliances such as a vacuum where they are more for odors.
