What should I know about getting a tattoo?

Basic information for someone considering getting a tattoo.

A tattoo is a scar. They are designed by inserting a needle quickly (60 times a second) into the skin. The ink is on the needle and gets trapped inside the hole created by the needle. The body then heals,

creating a light scar with the trapped ink inside forming the tattoo.

Before getting your tattoo, find a tattoo artist and make sure he has a business license and watch him tattoo. Referrals are good and, if possible, you should see the tattoos he has done and watch him tattoo.

Tattoos can be removed fairly well with a ruby laser at a plastic surgery clinic. The cost of tattoo removal depends on the size and location of the tattoo. And there is no guarantee that the entire tattoo can be removed. Certain colors do not come out well.
