Is belly dancing exercise?

Belly dancing is a safe exercise for injury recovery and senior citizens.

Belly dancing is excellent exercise, because you work on each part of your body. It's also a very slow exercise unlike aerobics. I have had doctors send me patients with issues like back problems or recent

surgery, because they need to exercise. They send them to belly dancing class because they aren't going to injure themselves by doing something rapidly or repeatedly.

Most people come to the class once per week, and then I recommend that they try to practice at home three times per week. You can actually put as much as time as you want into it.

Belly dancing is also great for senior citizens. We had one lady in her late 70's who was having a ball. She got the trophy one night, because she made everyone in the audience realize just how precious life is, and that you can take it to the limit even in your old age.
