"We started Wedding Promises quite a long time ago," says Timothy J. Carder, vice president of design at Lenox, Inc. in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. "It shows a fairly delicately carved line, which sort of represents bridal gowns, and has a lace-like effect."
This collection, still a strong presence at Lenox, showcases items appropriate for the wedding day, such as cake toppers, cake servers and unity candleholders. It also features gift items appropriate for the couple including vases, serving bowls, goblets and more.
Of course with any collection, certain pieces will strike a chord with the customers and emerge as a collective favorite.
"Specifically the picture frames are very popular, and the wedding albums," says Carder.
Wedding Promises pieces remain available on the website and in stores today. Many items can also be personalized.
Notes Carder, "This line continues to grow in strength and has also been added to by another collection called Opal Innocence."
Introduced in 2002, the giftware line Opal Innocence was inspired by the popular Lenox dinnerware pattern. It features a leaf design and contains pieces crafted from fine China, metal and crystal.
Describes Carder, "This is another decorative style and is very lace-like in a white pattern. We also complement these lines with not only China, but metal accessories too so there are metal or silver plated picture frames and toasting flutes available."
The third Lenox wedding line is called Forevermore and features a design of delicate hearts. Couples can choose from items such as guest books, candleholders, jewelry boxes, ring holders, decorative crosses and more. Most Forevermore pieces are made from silver plated metal and crystal.
Aside from these three collections, Lenox also boasts an impressive gift selection, which contains items appropriate for a bridal shower such as nesting dishes with soaps, crystal jewelry and wedding-themed sculptures. In addition, there's options for men, elegant playing card sets and shot glasses, just to name a few. Many of these items make popular wedding attendant gifts too.
And, for those who are currently planning their special day, Lenox has a wide selection of party favors such as heart-shaped frames, silver plated fortune cookies and beaded tealight candleholders.
Carder emphasizes, "The wedding business is very important to Lenox." Customer satisfaction and the demand for varied and quality products drive the Lenox team to create exceptional new pieces on an ongoing basis.
The company recognizes that certain products will always be favored. Carder notes, "Our most popular wedding item is probably the 8 x 10 frame. Everybody needs that, that is the feature piece, and after that I would say the double frame where the wedding couple is featured is most popular and also the frame that features an invitation card with a second panel."
