Bend is in the high desert. We only get about 12-14 inches of precipitation each year. Bend is pretty temperate in the spring and the fall and the summers rarely get above 100 degrees. It can get chilly here though at night any day in the year. We say that it's true that it can freeze any night of the year. I have seen it happen. The winters can really vary. In the 25 years I have been here we had winters with 60 inches of snow including some where we've had a couple of feet at a time. Then some winters are relatively mild. We can get as cold as 20 degrees below 0 and other winters it barely breaks freezing. It just really varies.

Our summer temperature range from an average high of 85 degrees to a low of 44 degrees, winter averages high in the 40s to lows in the 20s, and precipitation ranges from 10.5 to 12 inches annually. Bend is known for sunshine.

The most popular times to visit are summer and winter because of the recreation, but summer is by far the most popular.

Bend's elevation is 3600 feet, we are quite high in the mountains.
